Dawn Conard started her jewelry business by making clip-on jewelry for purses. She called them Purse Bling and began selling them at her local farmer’s market in 2012.
As happens so often when a talented person starts creating, one thing led to another. Now Dawn upcycles vintage watches & jewelry into timeless pieces that are simply gorgeous.
Though making jewelry is what Dawn calls her ‘hobby’ business, she says she goes a bit nuts at flea markets. “My mind goes crazy when I see old watch parts, keys, and broken vintage jewelry,” she tells us. “All I see is possibilites!”
Dawn loves creating one-of-a-kind pieces such as vintage pocket-watch case pendants and unique earrings. Her customers often tell her that her pieces remind them of family members, so she creates her jewelry with the hope that it will help make new memories for her customers to love. And her funky yet delicate baubles are so swoon-worthy, you’re going to want to wear them everywhere. Memories will be made.
Dawn also makes really cool keychains from knife handles, funky I.D. badge holders, rings for every finger, and some adorable button hair pins that are to die for. Side note: if you’re looking for a fun and original Mother’s Day gift for your mom, one of Dawn’s brooches might be just the thing.
You can follow her on Facebook, but if you stop by Designs by Dawn at the Market on May 11 & 12, you might well catch her rocking out to some Journey. Buy some cool jewelry from her either way.
Because it’s her jewelry that rocks. All we can say is, we hope you beat us to her. Because she might not have any stock left once we get to her.
See you there!
