Fortunately for us, Jaime Gaines’ husband runs a lumber business.
Why is that so fortunate?
Well, it led to Jaime starting Willow Ridge. She looked at all that lumber her man was constantly getting rid of, and had a light bulb moment. “Hey,” she told him, “I think I could make some money out of your trash.”
Most of Jaime’s creations are made out of recycled materials, which makes us love her even more. She enjoys making something new come alive out of something old and has used everything from pallet wood to genuine barn wood to create her art.
Jaime recently discovered the joy of making her own clothes and has added unique upcycled pieces to the Willow Ridge lineup. She says, “Sewing and painting have both become a passion and a great outlet of creativity for me, and my hope is that people who buy my products will have as much fun wearing or displaying the art as I had creating it.”
In her spare time, Jaime helps run a small hobby farm with her husband and four boys. Oh, and she homeschools her boys.
It’s starting to sound like she wears as many hats as we do here at Backroads Market.
But don’t worry about her. Like us, she’s enjoying “every loud and rowdy moment” of her happy, busy life!
Follow Willow Ridge on Facebook to see Jaime’s latest products, but make sure you stop by and see her on Market Day May 11 & 12.
See you there!
